What a website designer looks for in a website!

When I go to a website, I can’t help myself…I have to check it out. I love to check out the graphics, colors, fonts, and layouts. Well, obviously it sparks my interest but sometimes my eye can see things that maybe someone else wouldn’t see.

Things I notice:

  1. Grammar errors (Install Grammarly, it’s free!)

  2. No favicon (on desktop)

  3. Broken links

  4. Colors

  5. Unprofessional photos

  6. Fonts (sizing and pairing)

  7. Layout balance

  8. Navigation bar

  9. Graphics

  10. Copywriting (you can usually point out a Chat GPT)

Things I love:

  1. Graphics

  2. A little bit of animation

  3. Freebies that have great value

  4. The little details

  5. Personality in the copywriting

  6. Photos that show the brand/business personality

  7. A clean-looking website that looks professional

  8. Easy navigation

  9. About section with a photo of the business owner and/or team

  10. Minimal copywriting that gets the point across

I’ve come across some cool-looking websites and I’m going to be sharing those on my Instagram account because sometimes they just need to be recognized!
